The primary focus of the course is the analysis of individual marma points, understanding their effects, manipulation techniques, and special massage strokes. The treatment always incorporates support for the flow of energy in the body. The course provides an introduction to the basic principles of Ayurveda, making it accessible to anyone, even those without prior knowledge of Ayurveda. As a marma therapy practitioner, the ability to work with oneself is crucial; thus, we will also explore breathwork and concentration techniques to refine our perception.

This basic level course is followed by an Advanced Marma Therapy Training with Dr. Neel, held once every two to three years. The basic level course is independent and comprehensive, equipping you with more than enough knowledge to immediately start practicing marma therapy after completion.
Marma Points
Marma points are vital energy points on the body where life force (prana) is concentrated. They serve as a connection between the body, mind, and spirit, promoting the health and balance of an individual. From the perspective of Ayurvedic anatomy, marma points have the ability to therapeutically influence doshas, dhatus (tissues), malas (waste products), organs, and srotas (channels). Marma points are employed for diagnosis, disease prevention, and healing.
What Marma Therapy Can Do
Marma therapy (marma chikitsa) is an integral part of Ayurvedic healing techniques. It aims to restore communication between the body, mind, and consciousness, balance doshas, body organs, energy flow, restore and strengthen the digestive fire (agni), provide pain relief, maintain the good condition of sensory organs, improve consciousness, and has many other effects. Marma therapy directly contributes to maintaining the internal balance of an individual.
Working with marma points is very practical and experience-based. This knowledge was traditionally used by warriors for immediate and effective intervention, passed down from teacher to student. Dr. Neel’s teachings draw not only from academic Ayurvedic tradition (known as Sushruta’s 107 marma points) but also from the traditions of Agastya and martial arts from southern India. Acquiring this knowledge is challenging in any other marma course.

What You Will Learn
In this course, you will gain skills that you can immediately apply in your current practice. You will learn the basic principles of Ayurveda and how to apply them in marma therapy. You will study over a hundred marma points (not only from the Ayurvedic tradition), their locations, various manipulation techniques, treatment of different body parts, and full-body massage. You will be equipped to provide clients with recommendations for basic self-care after treatment. The course will also include protocols for addressing specific difficulties.
Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion from the Ayurvedic clinic of Dr. Neel Venugopal in both English and Czech.

…Ayurvedic consultants, massage therapists, bodyworkers, healers, therapists from other traditions, yoga teachers, and anyone interested in working with the body and energy. Ayurvedic consultants and Ayurveda students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and learn about points and their effects that are not commonly studied.
„I would like to share my experience from the marma therapy course that took place in 2017 under the organizational auspices of Veronika Šilarová. I have been studying Ayurveda for several years, and when I came across marma points and marma therapy, it became clear to me that it was the right way to connect the physical body with the non-physical, i.e., body, mind, and spirit, to maintain overall balance and vitality.
However, the books available in limited quantities did not fully satisfy my desire for knowledge. With enthusiasm and expectations, I enrolled in this course. I must say that it did not disappoint me at all. Unlike many other courses, it offered real quality and value that corresponded to the price. It was very well prepared in all aspects, and there was a great friendly atmosphere among people who seemed to have known each other forever.
I especially want to highlight the methodology of Dr. Neel Venugopal, who announced from the very beginning that the goal was for all of us to leave the course, despite taking notes and receiving scripts, with everything in our heads and hands. And I think he succeeded. We focused on each marma separately. He showed it to each one of us, and everyone had the opportunity to repeatedly try its location, manipulation, and overall treatment and massage.
The course was truly nourishing and certainly unique in our Czech context. It also included a basic introduction to the system of Ayurvedic medicine. I think that after completing the „basic level,“ everyone can successfully incorporate this therapy into their own client practice and thus spread this knowledge in an applied form.“

Dr. Neel Venugopal
An expert and excellent teacher who can impart unique knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject. He actively uses over 400 marma points. Due to life circumstances, he started studying at the age of 6 when he began to learn from his first teacher. According to Kerala customs, a teacher starts sharing important knowledge with a student only after 12 years. Thanks to this and studying with other teachers, Dr. Neel Venugopal is a continuation of a centuries-old tradition and the carrier of rare knowledge that is not available in written form anywhere. Dr. Neel Venugopal founded and manages an Ayurvedic clinic in Kerala, India.
